For Native American's they have many symbols, and the one I have picked for this week was the Sky Band. The meaning for the Sky Band is leading to happiness. I do feel the joy in my life, but there are some days where I am down in the trenches. That's when I turn to craft to help me take my mind off the stress, and whatever was bothering me. I can sit on the couch and crochet, and I can sit on my front room floor and paint.
As I craft what I'm doing, I see the progress I make, and I know the piece is coming together. Right at that moment, you will feel achievement, and you know you are productive. As you physically move your hands, you are thinking of what stitches come next, what color do I paint with next, or whatever the process is that's what you think. You will leave those negative thoughts naturally. Then you get your self into the flow. The flow ends up being a meditative state. Do you ever hear that meditating is healthy for you? I do. This meditative state allows you to be focused, involved, and finding enjoyment. You end up losing track of time, and your body will release all the tension. A smile will override your face without even knowing it. All of these factors lead to happiness.
There is a thing called Art Therapy. It is an actual medical process you go through to help break out of self-doubt and anxiety. It will help you explore your emotions and increase self-esteem. Crafting promotes your overall wellness and contentment. I want to help you find your flow and find simple ways to happiness.
